Ingredients

Oat milk (105-115°F) 1/3 cup
Butter 1/4 cup
1 Egg + 1 egg yolk
Granulated sugar 1/4 cup
Salt 1/2 teaspoons
Active dry yeast 2 1/4 teaspoon
All purpose flour 2 cups
Bread flour 1 cups
Plant-based butter 1/4 cup
Dark brown sugar 1/3 cup
Cinnamon 1 tablespoon
Cream cheese 4 oz
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Confectioners sugar 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Warm the oat milk to 105-115°F and combine it with active dry yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, egg, and granulated sugar. Add the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
  3. Add the salt, all-purpose flour, and bread flour. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a 12×15-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
  6. Spread the plant-based butter evenly over the dough. In a small bowl, mix the dark brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle this mixture over the butter.
  7. Tightly roll the dough into a log, starting from one of the longer sides. Cut the log into 12 even rolls.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking pan, cover, and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. While the rolls bake, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, vanilla extract, and confectioners’ sugar until smooth.
  11. Once the rolls are done, let them cool for 5 minutes before spreading the cream cheese frosting on top. Serve warm and enjoy!
